Oil prices are killing our economy.

And neither Bush nor kerry has a credible plan. One that includes modern, state of the art nuclear power.
But I suspect one or both of them knows what is happening, understand the implications, and has let it go on.
Why?American's entrenched love of gas guzzling vehicles. It's politically unacceptable to try and restrict, tax, or eliminate them. Therefore, the easy answer is to let gasoline prices escalate to the consumer's threshold of financial pain, and the subsequent public outcry for conservation, energy R+D, alternative fuel vehicles, and mass transit. We are so fucking stupid you know, by taxing gasoline just a few short years ago, we could be on our way, instead, we are enriching hostile nations. And not one American auto manufacturer has anything comparable to a Toyota Prius. I expect to see many shiny monster pickups and suv's rotting on front lawns in the next few years.

I'll be laughing at you as you either struggle to pay you gasoline credit card bill, or your v-8 powered luxo road battleship becomes a lawn ornament dedicated to your inflated ego.
