There is a little feature of modern hard drives called "smart".
Smart notifies you during boot of impending hard drive failure.
I got alerted that one of my drives is failing, so I'm busy backing up.
Thanks to the guy that invented that technology.
A blown disk with no backup is a real catastrope.
